Enjoying the Beautiful Weather....

Today, it was so nice outside...in the 70's, so after a fun time at MOPS we joined some friends for a picnic lunch and a fun time playing at the park. Unfortunatley, I didn't have my camera with me for the park fun...but we did get to enjoy some more of the beautiful weather outside at home after nap time. Adrianna really enjoys just walking around the house and exploring. She even went down into the woods some this evening and started rolling around in the leaves...she got all dirty but loved every minute of it. She was happy to have some time to play ball outside with Daddy too. I love it when it starts staying light out longer so that we can enjoy some outside time with Josh in the evenings too since he typically doesn't get home from work until at least 7.

Only 8 Weeks to go......!!!

Today, I had my 31 week check up and everything is continuing to go smoothly!! I still have my c-section schedule for June 11th at this point and I can't believe that is now only 8 weeks away...and I am starting to get a little nervous...well Josh would say very nervous and that I have been nervous. I am the type of person who likes to have everything in order and ready way ahead of time and I worry about things not getting done and Josh is the type of person who always gets things done but waits until the last second to complete them (for example...our taxes haven't been filed yet and it's April 14th...but from experience i know he will get them done on time...I just have to learn to be more patience about it)..so as you can imagine this can lead to some disagreements about getting stuff done :).
Adrianna is still in her crib and old room right now...her b-day is just 12 days away and i was hoping that her new room would be like a b-day present to her so that we could get her moved in and used to her new room and big girl bed before her baby sister arrives. I don't want her to feel like she is being misplaced by the baby. Well, I ordered her bed back on March 12th and it was suppose to be delivered this week...but when I didn't hear anything I called them and they said it still hadn't been delivered to them from the manufactor and that production time was slow and they don't expect to even get it for a few more weeks...so I guess she might just have to sleep on a matress on the floor for a little while...I know that will probably be safter anyways. We still have to paint the room as well and will have to come up with something different then bears since I can't locate a teddy bear bedspread....we are going to paint the room peach pink and chocolate (I saw these colors on HGTV and they looked really cute and girly together :). So as you can probably tell I am feeling a little overwhelmed and nervous about things as time gets closer but I know that everything will work out and get done. I have to pray, trust in God and know that he doesn't give you more then you can handle.
Today, has been a great day so far...Adrianna was a little angel while I had my appt and she even sat in the stroller and ate a snack and looked at books while we listened to Chloe's heartbeat and I talked to the doctor...I think she knows when it is best for her to be really good :). My Mom was in the area again today for work so we met her over at Ollies after my appt and we found stuff for the goodie bags for Adrianna's b-day party and they are all put together now. They also had real Crocs in there for $9.99 each..but only limited sizes...I found a pair of the flips for myself and I got Adrianna a pair as well...she loves Crocs!! Mom then treated us to lunch at Chick-fil-A and Adrianna enjoyed playing there too.
---------------------------------
I guess I haven't really updated on the potty training...well the three day potty training is pretty much a joke...at least for Adrianna...didn't work too well for her. In fact, now she is almost to the point of refusing to sit on the potty...so I don't know what is going on. I am trying not to stress about it and know that she will get it when she gets it and that she is still young....I will continue to have her use the potty and keep up with that and i am not going to put her back in diapers because I feel that would be regressing...she hasn't been in them for a little over a week now...but we have been using pull-ups which I call her big girl special underwear. We will see....she will get it in her own time :).

A Blessed Easter Weekend!!

Jesus is Risen!!!
We had a wonderful Easter weekend spent with family and attending/watching Josh perform in a wonderful Easter play "The Outlaw". On Saturday afternoon/evening...Josh's Mom and Steve came over with the entire dinner (we were so blessed to not have to make anything)for us to have together. Then we went to see Josh perform in "The Outlaw"...wow, what a wonderful play and so powerful..Adrianna sat through the whole thing and enjoyed every moment of it.

She only got a little restless each time she saw Daddy up on stage because she wanted to run up and join him there :). We enjoyed worshiping our Risen Lord on Sunday morning and then my parents came over and again brought the majority of Easter dinner with them

(I don't know how I ended up being so spoiled about not having to cook this past weekend, thanks everyone :). On Sunday night, we again went back out with my parents this time to see "The Outlaw" once again and I was very excited to have the opportunity to see it twice since I enjoyed it so much the last time. Adrianna again was a great little girl and enjoyed the play.
Of course Adrianna was also spoiled with many great Easter Baskets/presents from all her grandparents and Mommy and Daddy...she has been having fun enjoying her new things.
We are so blessed to know the Lord and to celebrate him Rising from the Dead...what a true blessing :).

Still Training.....

Well, the potty training hasn't gone as well as I had hoped for or expected...three days yeah, right...that is a joke :). I know I need to have a lot more patience then that.
On a very excited note...Adrianna woke up completely dry this morning...yipee....I was so happy!! I don't know if she understands completely what is going on yet or not. I took her to the potty right away but she didn't have to go. She hung out most of the morning playing and watching cartoons and then we headed out late morning to Wal-mart to pick up a few Easter things, B-day supplies and groceries. Unfortunately, Adrianna had an accident right before we left the house and had to be cleaned up. I was kind of worried taking her out in just her underwear there and knew that it would be crowded and didn't want to have to take her into the bathroom there if I could avoid it so I broke down a little and put in her in a pull-up that one of my friends had given me some extras of her daughters. I told Adrianna that they were special underwear and I am so tired of cleaning up the sheets everytime that she goes down for bed or nap that I have decided that she could wear a pull-up just during those times and while we were out but I would still ask her if she needed to use the potty and tell her to keep her big girl underwear dry. We will continue to just have underwear on when we are at home. I hope that she will soon catch on and I won't have to clean-up the floor for much longer....
Well, I have a lot of cleaning, laundry and other stuff to catch up with around here before Adrianna wakes up so I am off to get working :).
Adrianna did run to the potty one time this evening...but she didn't end up going. I think I have kind of figured it out...when she woke up from nap she had wet and pooped in her pull-up. She is scared of her poop so she hasn't been going unless it is during nap or bed time...she won't go in the potty for the most part...doesn't want to have to see it....I guess she will get over that eventually...I hear that a lot of kids are like that. She did well with keeping her underwear dry all evening...but I think she is holding it and just not going at all until she gets a pull-up on now...Potty training so much fun..
We have had a long evening...tonight started the three night showing of "The Outlaw" play at our church which Josh is a part of...so he had the play tonight (we plan to go and see it both Saturday and Sunday night) and then afterwards had softball practice for Church from 9-11...what a long night for Adrianna and myself!!

We Got Out of the House....Yippee...

Well, the last time before today that I had been out of the house was Saturday night and if you guys know me.....I hate staying home all day even for one day in a row...I am always going somewhere...so this was certainly miserable for me. On Sunday I wasn't feeling good at all and then the last three days I have been working on potty training with Adrianna. Today was our day to go to Little Gym and I was determined that we would get out of the house for it. I still don't think she is really potty trained but I was going to take my chance and go anyways...I couldn't take being inside anymore. I stocked up the bag with plenty of dry underwear and about 4 sets of dry clothes...I was going to be over prepared and headed out...I even put a sheet on Adrianna's carseat..just in case. We made it to Little Gym dry and even made it through the whole class without any accidents...this was after not even going to the potty all morning...yippee. I was so happy for her making it through..the only problem was that she didn't really seem to enjoy Little Gym that much today after the first 10 minutes or so she noticed her diaper bag inside the gym instead of where we normally keep it because I wanted to keep it close in case she needed to use the potty and she noticed the pretzels inside of it and then was focused on the pretzels the rest of the class and got very upset that I didn't let her have any. She didn't participate for pretty much the rest of the class and just clung to me...I think it was a combination of wanting the pretzels, having underwear on which is different for her of course and this being the first day we had been out of the house for 3 days!! But I was so excited to make it through Little Gym without any accidents...but I didn't want to test it too much so we tried the potty before leaving...she sat but nothing...then we went through the drive-thru at McDonald's and I got her a Happy Meal for being such a big girl. Unfortunately, it is now almost 5 and she is just eating now.
She fell asleep on the way home and wouldn't wake up and ended up napping until about 4. Of course, I knew she would be wet when she got up since she hadn't gone all day yet and I was right...still working on the nap and bedtime dryness too...so she had to take yet another bath. I sure hope she askes me to use the potty the rest of the evening...this was suppose to work in three days...yeah right :).

Decorating Easter Cookies

Well, today is Day 3 of the 3-Day potty training...I am beginning to wonder if it really is only going to take 3 days or if I am going to be working on this longer. Adrianna woke up soaked again this morning and I had to give her another bath...she had actually pooped too...don't ask me how you can sleep right through that :).
She was doing pretty well this morning and then right before nap time she had two accidents and didn't make it to the potty at all for them. She did actually ask to go to the potty this morning twice by running over there and wanting to sit on her potty...(I was thinking wow, maybe she finally has the hang of this) but she just sat there for about 2 seconds each time and was done....so I don't know. She is down for her nap now...hopefully she will be dry when she wakes up...and the afternoon will be accident free....I am really hoping to be able to get out of the house tomorrow for Little Gym but don't want to take her if she is still have too many accidents and I refuse to go back to the diapers....we have tried this long...I am determined to follow through with it :).
While Adrianna was napping, I made some Easter/Spring shaped sugar cookies and she had fun decorating them....
Unfortunately, we were too busy decorating the cookies that I didn't get any pics...

She woke up wet from her nap and had to have yet another bath...good thing she loves the bathtub :). She had two more accidents throughout the evening and made it to the potty once for most of the one time and I once again praised her up and down and made sure she knew how proud I was of her. My patience is certainly being tested to the max and I am running on fumes....I don't know how much longer I can take all of these accidents and cleaning carpets and changing bed sheets but hopefully it will be well worth it in the end...I was just really hoping it would only take the three days...looks like it is going to take longer for us. I tried to get her to use the potty three times before bed but no luck...stopped the liquids about 2 1/2 hours before bed so hopefully she will be dry in the morning...I am off to rest and try to stay sane....

Dying Easter Eggs

**Please note I am really far behind on my blogging...this post is from a little over 3 weeks ago and I am just trying to catch up and get everything posted...we will see how far I get :).

Well, yesterday was Potty Training Day Number 2.....Adrianna woke up just a little wet this morning but nothing too bad so I was pretty impressed. The morning went pretty well again without any major accidents...then she was soaked after nap time to the point that she needed another bath and then she had multiple accidents in the afternoon and we did manage to pretty much make it to the potty in time once and I praised her up and down big time and she got some special Dora stickers that she reallly loves.
This morning, she enjoyed dying Easter Eggs until she decided that it might be more fun to splatter the dye everywhere and it got all over her face, up her nose and in her eyes....that made her pretty upset and she was pretty much done with the dying at that point. After nap and the eggs were dry, Adrianna put Elmo stickers on her eggs and really enjoyed that.

It did seem like she was starting to get the hang of her potty training some today, as she started to get a blank look on her face and say "uhhh" when she started to pee her pants as if she knew she needed to not go in her pants but didn't know what to think...hopefully she will be going to the potty really soon...
I am doing alright with staying in the house all these days in a row so far and Adrianna has been just fine...giving us sometime to play with all of the toys and get some good use out of them...but I am looking forward to getting back out soon...can't wait!!

She also had fun mixing up brownie mix to make a big bear shaped brownie!!

Potty Training - Day One

First of all, I must say that I am feeling much better then I was yesterday..thanks goodness it was just a 24 hour virus!! Today, I started the 3-Day Potty Training with Adrianna and so far I guess it is going well. We had tried potty training a few months ago and Adrianna did go on the potty some but it just wasnt' working that well and I was doing it totally different then this 3-Day potty training does it so I decided to give it a try and hopefully by the end of Wednesday she will be fully potty trained :). She has been in underwear all day so far and even for nap right now. She did poop in her pants once and part of it got to the potty...(I had to run her there...she didn't ask) but she hasn't peed yet today so I am hoping that she will be dry when she wakes up from her nap. She has had fun this morning coloring, putting puzzles together, reading books and "throwing away" her diapers.
Part of the potty training was for her to throw all of her diapers away at the beginning so I had her put them into a clean bag in the trashcan and then I will save them for her little sister but Adrianna thought it was pretty fun to throw her diapers away.
I will update tonight about how the afternoon went....hopefully I don't go too stir crazy with being in the house for 4 days in a row :)!!!
Well, Adrianna woke up from her nap wet, unfortunately. We continued to work on the potty training through the rest of the afternoon and she had a few more accidents on the floor...she never actually made it to the potty once for pee and only went in the potty once for poop. I had to call Josh and have him pick up some carpet cleaner on his way home so that I could clean up all of the messes we were having...fun, fun. Hopefully, it will all be well worth it.
When I went down to put Adrianna's wet laundry in the washer I had a wonderful surprise waiting for me......
how sweet my husband is...it brought tears to my eyes

So Sick.....

Well, late last night around 11 or so I started to not feel well at all. Josh was up doing some stuff on the computer and I decided to go ahead and go to bed. I didn't sleep well at all...kept feeling like I was going to get sick. I ended up vomitting 3 times throughout the night and once more again today. So needless to say we didn't make it to SS or Church today...Adrianna woke up not feeling that well either but quickly seemed better. Josh had already had plans for a while to do his Fantasy Baseball draft today...which takes about 6 hours...which is such a big deal to these guys...it is like Christmas to them :). Of course, he didn't want to miss it and I didn't want him to miss it either...so fortunately, Josh's Dad and StepMom were going to be home today so Josh took Adrianna over to their house to hang out so that I could just rest and hopefully feel better tomorrow...ugh!!! There is no way that I would have enough energy to keep up with her with the way I have been feeling today. So I am just taking it easy...the only problem is I think my cell phone must have gone with Adrianna in the diaper bag and we don't have a house phone so I hope I don't need a phone really bad...blah. Well, off to see if I have enough energy to take a shower....

Easter Egg Hunt!!!

This morning we braved the very windy weather to take Adrianna out to the Easter Egg hunt at our church. She had a blast....such a difference from last year...when she wasn't even walking yet. She knew exactly what to do and enjoyed picking up the eggs and putting them in her bucket.

After the egg hunt, she enjoyed going inside for a great puppet show complete with music and some glowing puppets at the end.

After nap time, we headed back out for a surprise birthday party for a friend of ours from Church, Kimberly. The party was full of pink stuff and a lot of fun. Kimberly seemed to really enjoy the surprise as well. Adrianna enjoyed playing with Anthony on his train table and with other toys. Kimberly even let Adrianna take home her Birthday Princess Tiara...which Adrianna loved!! Happy Birthday to Kimberly!!

Indoor Fun with MOPS Friends!!

This morning, we meet our MOPS group at the Playnasium and Adrianna had an awesome time. They had gotten a new slide from the last time that we were there and she spent a large portion of her time sliding down that. It was pretty crowded when we first got there but after a little while some people left and she seemed to enjoy herself even more. From the majority of the pics that I got you would think that she was having a bad time...she just wouldn't look at or smile for the camera much for me today....

Adrianna of course feel asleep on the way home from the Playnasium...so of course she didn't take a nap once we got home. She did hang out in her crib for a while for some quiet time though and this went much better then I expected. She actually just talked and played for a while. Josh had play practice tonight at church so Adrianna and I were on our own for the evening. We went out to Target tonight to pick up a few things including her new underwear that we will be using when we start our Three Day Potty Training on Monday. Adrianna loved picking out the Dora and Elmo underwear. On our way home, we stopped by the church to see Daddy before heading home for bath time and bed. Josh ended up getting home earlier then expected so Adrianna got to see him before heading to bed and she had fun showing him and trying on her new underwear...in all kinds of ways but the correct way :).

What a difference a day makes!!!

Today, has been a complete opposite of yesterday both in Adrianna's behavior and the weather. Adrianna has been a little angel all day and the weather has been beautiful. We went to Little Gym today and of course Adrianna had a blast walking on the balance beams, hanging from the bars, doing rolls, kicking balls, playing with bean bags and shaking the bells.
After Little Gym, we headed over to Friendly's to meet my Godmother who treated us to a yummy lunch complete with ice cream of course. Adrianna enjoyed every minute of her lunch. My Godmother also spoiled her with an Easter treat complete with a cute dress, fun book, and lots of fun and creative activity books to keep her busy..I am looking forward to working on those with her and doing some of the crafts with her too. Adrianna has really started to enjoy working on crafts and other projects at her table. We then headed to Weis to stock up on some groceries where Adrianna was just a little angel the whole time..calling out the names of the food as we walked passed (crackers, fish, pretzels, pizza, etc.). She enjoyed smiling and waving to all the other people in the store as well. On the way home, she fell asleep and stayed asleep while I carried her to her crib.
Wow!! What a difference a day can make...I prefer this little Angel compared to the little girl that I had yesterday at the mall :).
After nap, it ended up raining outside so we never made it out to enjoy the nice weather....but Adrianna enjoyed looking at/reading her new books that my Godmother gave her earlier today.

On a side note, Adrianna has really started to enjoy putting little purses/bags on her arm and walking around saying bye-bye...I guess she knows that we never leave the house without taking a bag/purse with us :).

Rainy Day = Mall = Bad Idea

Yesterday, was Adrianna's day to hang out with the Ailey and Brea. Brea wasn't able to get together with us so we just got together with Ailey and decided to meet at the mall. Adrianna did alright at first and was even fine with staying in her stroller for a little bit. But that didn't last long...she didn't want to stay in her stroller anymore which I was fine with and let her out to walk but she kept running away from me...refused to hold hands or help push the stroller and just wanted to go where she wanted to go. So we decided to head over to the play area at the mall which worked for a few minutes but then it was back to running away from me. I tried to put her back in the stroller since she wouldn't listen and she just made her self stiff and had a full fledged temper tantrum right in the middle of the mall....so needless to say after fighting with her for a while we decided to head home early. I felt bad for leaving Libby and Ailey at the mall but the mall just wasn't working for Adrianna. She just really doesn't like to be confined anymore at all...she does well with still sitting in high chairs and riding in a shopping cart..but doesn't really like the stroller that much at all.
Once we got home she was an angel the rest of the day. She loved playing with all of her toys, reading books and using stamps for the first time (an early b-day present from my cousin).
She ended up taking a 3 1/2 hour nap, so I guess she was just really tired and wanted some time to just play at home.

Too Many Appointments.....

Well, yesterday I felt like I was running all over the place..I will remember to not schedule appts. all for the same day. I had my 28 week check up and everything is going great...right on schedule and our little baby girl is growing healthy and strong. Can't believe I only have 11 weeks until my c-section is scheduled...time is just flying by. Oh, we do finally have a name picked out as well....Chloe Faith Hykes. We are excited about Chloe joining our family on June 11th.
The only problem with my check up appt. was the fact that they were running 30 minutes behind schedule (which is unusual for them) and I had a dentist appt scheduled right afterwards and I had to call and push that appt. back since i would never make it there on time. Well, I never like going to the dentist and I had my regular cleaning and then I have been having very sensitive teeth and I have been avoiding getting the recommended bonding done on them...well, I finally broke down and scheduled an appt. to get that done towards the end of the month..not fun at all and it will be $830 out of pocket...ugh!!
Josh worked from home so that I could get to my appts and he could try to work some while watching Adrianna. I finally got back home right about lunch time and I had to hurry up and get something to eat and then make the hour trip down to close to my parents house for an appt. I had with my cousin to sign papers to have a timeshare that I inheirted from my Aunt to be transfered in my name....I should get the paper work on that soon and we will see how everything works with having a vacation week. I am very grateful for this wonderful gift. Since we were pretty much 5 minutes from my parents house we then stopped by there and spent the afternoon/evening with them and had dinner with them.
Adrianna's favorite place to hang out at my parents house....

Josh continued to work from home and then met a Friend to play golf in the evening...he got a pass to go to Whitetail as much as he wants for one price this entire season...so I am sure he will be playing golf any chance that he gets there.
Well, I did make it to all of my appts. but it was a crazy day and I don't think I will try and make it to that many appts. in one day again...especially when I am pregnant and I felt to be lacking energy more again lately.
